Construction Update & Cameras
Timeframe: August 2 - August 15, 2026
Spotlight: Construction of the future Cabrillo Boulevard Interchange in Santa Barbara North continues to make progress as crews advance foundation drilling for the two new freeway bridges. As work progresses, crews will begin constructing the first bridge columns, marking the beginning of the visible structures that will support the future freeway bridges. In Santa Barbara South, new pavement markings will be installed for a permanent "STOP" sign at the intersection of Spring/Olive Mill Rd. and Depot Rd. to improve access for drivers turning left onto Depot Road. In Montecito, the future widened freeway continues to take shape with the construction of permanent concrete pavement and a median barrier. In Padaro, the concrete mix site will operate overnight on Monday, August 3, and Tuesday, August 4, to support the placement of new reinforced concrete pavement; please expect noise at night.
Closures (weather permitting)
