Local street and US 101 improvements 2016-2020*
*The construction schedule remains accelerated, but will finish up in spring 2020 due to Thomas Fire and weather delays.
The Highway 101: Linden and Casitas Pass Project is a combination of freeway and local street improvements that make local travel easier in Carpinteria and prepare for future freeway widening. This $60 million construction project is phased to keep roadways open during daytime hours and minimize impacts to neighbors and commuters.
Local street and freeway improvements are color-coded based on the new, accelerated schedule that finishes in 2020. Progress is ongoing for items listed in 2016, 2017, and 2018. New components began construction this year and will finish up in early 2020.

The Highway 101 bridges over Carpinteria Creek will be raised 10 feet to reduce the flood impacts by enabling better water flow under the bridges. |
