Santa Claus Lane Bikeway

Highway 101: Santa Claus Lane Bikeway - Completed

Project Overview

A new Class I bikeway and multipurpose path connects Santa Claus Lane to Carpinteria Avenue. Pedestrians and bicyclists are able to walk and ride between Carpinteria and Santa Claus Lane. This has added a connection for the California Coastal Trail between Sand Point Road and Carpinteria Avenue.

As part of the bikeway project, the intersection at Carpinteria Avenue and Estero Street was updated with new crosswalks, signage, landscaping, curbs and gutters, and bike lanes. At the western end of the project, a new vehicular turnaround was built at the end of Santa Claus Lane.

The bikeway was built in coordination with the Highway 101: Padaro project.
